Kitchen fires start in seconds. This puts one out in seconds.
A grease fire is one of the most common ways home fires start, and throwing water on burning oil makes it explode. The Handwell Fire Blanket lets anyone in your family smother a small pan fire safely, without water and without a mess.
How to use it
- Pull both black tabs down hard. The blanket drops out of the pouch.
- Cover the burning pan completely, holding the blanket in front of your hands as a shield.
- Turn off the heat and leave the blanket in place until everything has cooled down.
Why families keep one on the wall
- Woven fiberglass that does not burn
- Ready in one second, no training needed
- No pressure, no expiry date, no chemical residue like an extinguisher
- Large 1 x 1 m (40 x 40 in) size covers pans and pots
- Also works on small clothing fires and in cars, RVs, garages and camping
- Hangs flat on the wall next to your stove
For small fires only. If a fire is spreading, get everyone out and call emergency services. Single use: replace the blanket after it has been used on a fire.

Frequently asked questions
How do I use the fire blanket?
Pull both black tabs down firmly and the blanket drops out of its pouch. Hold it in front of your hands like a shield, lay it completely over the burning pan, then turn off the heat. Leave it in place until everything has cooled down. It's designed for small fires; if a fire is spreading, get everyone out and call emergency services.
What kinds of fires is it for?
It's made for small fires you can fully cover: grease and oil fires in a pan, small fires in a pot or toaster area, and clothing fires (wrap the person and help them stop, drop and roll). Keep one in the kitchen, and another in the car, garage, RV or camping kit. It isn't meant for fires that are already spreading through a room.
How long does shipping take?
Shipping is free on every order, worldwide. Orders are prepared within 1–3 business days, then delivery takes 7–15 business days to the United States and 10–20 business days to the rest of the world. You'll get a tracking number by email as soon as your order ships.
What if I need to return it?
If your order arrives damaged, faulty or wrong, email us within 7 days of delivery with a photo and we'll send a free replacement or a full refund. You can also return an unused blanket, still folded in its original pouch, within 14 days of delivery. Just email us first at handwell.shop@gmail.com for return instructions. Full details are in our Refund Policy.
Can I reuse it? Does it expire?
Fire blankets are single-use: once one has been used on a fire, replace it with a new one. Until then, there's no pressure or chemicals to run out, so it needs no maintenance. Keep it in its pouch on the wall near your stove, and check now and then that the pouch and tabs are in good shape.
